Christmas Peanut Butter Blossoms

This past weekend I decided we were over due for some yummy Christmas peanut butter blossoms.  I really like these cookies because they are not as sweet as some of the other traditional cookies, yet they are really yummy and can be made very festive with some decorations. And of course when I asked my little helper if she wanted to make cookies the answer was a big YES!!

We did a slight spin off the original peanut butter blossoms and rolled the cookie dough in different sprinkles to make them more Christmas looking.  You do not have to do this if you don't want.

PRINT RECIPE

Ingredients
1 cup butter
4 cups flour
1 cup creamy peanut butter
2 tsp baking soda
1 cup sugar
1 tsp salt
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 10 oz package Hershey’s kisses
2 large eggs
Decorating sprinkles
2 teaspoons vanilla

Directions

Preheat oven to 350
Cream the first 6 ingredients until light and fluffy
In a separate bowl, mix the dry ingredients and then gradually add to wet ingredients until mixed well
Form into small balls, then roll in decorating sprinkles and place on cookie sheet
Flatten slightly with fingers
Bake for 8-10 minutes
While they are baking start unwrapping your Hershey kisses so they are ready to put on the cookies.  (just make sure your helper does not eat them all)
As soon as you remove them from oven, press a Hershey’s Kiss into the center of the cookie, and allow to cool completely
Now just eat and enjoy your cookies, we sure did!
