Teacher Appreciation Day is May 8th so we had to
make something for my daughters two preschool teachers. She really loves her teachers and well we all
know that teachers do so much and get so little for all they do so I LOVE the
idea of having a whole day where we can show these awesome people some love and
appreciation.
I have to say that I looked all over the internet for inspiration
on what to make for these two special teachers and was very surprised that no
one had ever done a teacher themed picture frame. I found lots of cute little gifts to give but
I wanted to do something different and special so I decided to make a frame and
put a Thank You picture of my daughter in the frame. I figure they can always reuse the frame if
they want, but they will know who made it and how much my daughter LOVES them.
I did have to help a bit with this frame. The ruler around the edge I did, it was just
a little too complicated for my daughter to do yet, but she was able to paint
and decorate the frames which was way more fun than doing the ruler part anyway
(hey why do I get all the not so fun parts?).
Supplies
Wood Frame (at Michaels for $.99)
Black Paint
Yellow Paint
Paint Brushes
Black Sharpe
Foam Letters
Wood Apple
Wood Star
Hot Glue Gun
Crayons
Directions
First you need to paint your entire frame black, we painted
the front and back black.
Now tape off where you want to do your ruler, and then paint
it yellow
Using a measuring tape mark off where your numbers will go
on your ruler and mark the ruler lines.
Using your sharpie draw all lines and write the numbers
Glue all four of your crayons on to the frame then glue your
apple and star. Now if you got foam
letter stickers just peel off the backs and stick them on or use your hot glue
gun to glue those suckers on too.
Now just get a picture of your child with a THANK YOU note
and put it in your frame.
I am sure any teacher would love to get this cute thank you
gift. I can’t wait for my daughter to
give these to her teachers.
Question of the Day:
Are you a teacher?
What was your favorite gift you ever got?
