Turkey Footprint

I just love hand and foot print crafts, because I enjoy going back and seeing how much my girls have grown over time by comparing them.  In the past we made these adorable butterfly foot prints that are still hanging in the girls rooms we also did these fun Christmas cards with hand and foot prints.

So this year I figured it was time to do another one and since it is November why not a Turkey!  I am framing these prints and using them as decorations for Thanksgiving, that way I can pull them out each year and compare my girls foot prints.  Not to mention that they are super cute and look great hanging on the wall!

I made a simple Turkey Template for you to use to make your own turkey footprint, however since everyones foot is a different size there is a trick to the feathers.  I placed the feathers over the foot in the pattern I wanted and traced a line outlining the foot over the feathers then cut out the part of the feather that would have covered the print.  I did not want to do the footprint on top of the feathers as I thought you would then see them under it and it would not look as nice.

Do you do a lot of hand and foot print crafts?  If you do share them with us in the comments feel free to share any links so we can check them out!

Supplies
Brown Paint
Paint Brush
White Card Stock
Fall Colored Card Stock
Googly Eyes
Foam Paper (orange and Red)
Turkey Pattern
Glue Stick

Directions
Paint the kids foot brown, older kids can paint their own foot.
Press painted foot down on white card stock
Print out your Turkey Template and
cut out pieces of fall colored card stock paper
Place your turkey feathers over your foot and draw the outline of the foot
on them so you can cut out the excess of feathers.  Then glue the feathers into place.
Have the kids glue down the eyes, beak, gobble, and feet
Now you have an adorable turkey keepsake that you can frame and take out every year!

  5. What a great idea! We usually use hands for such crafts, but footprint is even better for this turkey:) Cute, pinned, so I can try it with my daughter.
