Back at the start of the school year I made this cute sign to get a keep sake photo of my daughter on her first day of Kindergarten. I remember being so proud that my baby was going to school for the first time (okay she went to preschool but kindergarten is different). She was so excited and nervous at the same time.
Well several months have gone by and today was my baby's last day of kindergarten. WOW it goes by so fast, seriously don't blink because if you do the kids will be grown up and moved out. This morning while getting her ready for school, I thought it would be cool to get the frame out and take another picture and compare them.
What a difference, my baby looks like such a big kid now. How is it that she got so big in just these few short months? It is just not possible! But I guess pictures don't lie, she is becoming a big girl.
I thought some of you might enjoy this quick little project for next year when your baby's go to school, you can take a picture of them on the first day and then the last and compare, but be warned the difference may shock you.
Do you have any special traditions for the first and last days of school?
Supplies
Mini Wood Chalkboard
Yellow Paint
Paint Brush
Wooden Apple
Wooden School Bus
Glue
Foam Letters
Chalk
Directions
Paint the wood around your chalkboard with your yellow paint (if you are using a wood plaque & chalkboard paint, start by painting your chalkboard area with the chalkboard paint then paint around it in your yellow paint to create a border)
Once the paint dried glue your Apple & School Bus onto the bottom corners of the chalkboard
If your foam letters
are stickers then just peal the backs and stick them on the top of your frame,
if they are not stickers then use your glue to glue them on.
Now use your Chalk to write 1st Day / Last Day on your board, or you can put Kindergarten or 1st Grade or well anything you want. The beauty of using a chalkboard is you can change your mind and write something else later, and you can reuse the board next year or with your other kids

DeleteWhat a cute idea! When I was a kid, my dad always made me pose for a first day of school photo. I hated it! I'm glad now, though, because they're fun to look back on.
