I just love to decorate for Christmas but I don't like to spend a lot of money (who does right?) and I love to see the things my kids make. So I try to come up with some cheap easy crafts that my girls can make every year that we can decorate the house with. And this snowman is pretty easy to make and was fairly cheap. We did hit the craft store to get the styrofoam balls and hat but the other stuff we had at home. The only thing I did have to help her with is shaving off some Styrofoam from the bottom of the big ball. It is the only way Frosty will stand on his own but I did not want her to use the knife.
And my daughter LOVES this guy. We now have him sitting next to the Christmas tree so we can look at him all night!
Supplies
3 Different size Styrofoam balls (you can use any size balls, but they need to be 3 sizes)
3 large buttons (really any color would work)
4 Smaller buttons (for the mouth)
2 Googly Eyes (or you can use buttons if you want0
1 piece of orange foam paper
2 sticks (found in the yard)
1 Top Hat (found in the doll section of the craft store)
Glue Gun
Directions
Using a knife from the kitchen shave off a little from the bottom of the biggest ball (this will let it standup).
Put a bunch of glue on the top of the biggest ball and then sit the Medium ball on top.
Apply a bunch of glue on the medium ball and then put the smallest ball on top.
Glue on all your accessories!
Cut a piece of orange foam paper and fold it into a cone shape. Then glue on as the nose.
Don't forget to put the arms on!
Here is our Snowman in-front of the Tree. He is so cute!
These are absolutely adorable! My daughter would love to make these. it looks like yours did too!
