Every year I make cookies for Christmas and this year I wanted to try something a little different. So I decided to try Chocolate Dipped Oreos. I was going to sprinkle them with mashed candy canes but can you believe the store did not have any when I went, come on it was after Thanksgiving!
Well I promised my family cookies so I quickly formed plan B which was red and green sprinkles. And you know what my plan B turned out really GOOD. So good in fact my hubby wants me to make a LOT more of these. I how ever am trying to loose weight (yeah it seems like I always am right?) so one batch an that is it. If they are not in my face I can not eat them. Poor hubby will have to do without another batch. The bad/good news is that I have a couple other recipes I have been waiting to try so he will end up getting more treats and I will struggle with not eating all my yummy treats and that is how the story always seems to go right.
So anyway back to these yummy cookies. If you are looking for a treat that is pretty easy to make and everyone will love then you gotta try these cookies. Everyone in my house LOVED them and I am sure everyone in yours will too. Since they are not the traditional Christmas cookie so it is a nice surprise, and one that no one is sick of yet.
Ingredients
1 Package Oreo Cookies
1 Bag White Chocolate Chips
Red Sugar Sprinkles
Green Sugar Sprinkles
Parchment Paper
Directions
Pour your White Chocolate Chips in a medium sauce pan with the heat turned to Medium. Stir the chips till they are fully melted. Then turn off heat.
Put an Oreo Cookie into the Chocolate and turn it over till it is fully covered in Chocolate.
Using a fork remove the cookie from pot and wipe the bottom of fork on the side of the pot to remove excess chocolate.
Place cookies onto parchment paper
Sprinkle cookies with Red and Green sprinkles while the chocolate is still wet.
Let cookies sit till the chocolate is dry and hardens up.
Now eat and enjoy, but be warned they can be VERY ADDICTIVE!!
Ohmigosh, these look so good! Definitely making these Oreos this year!

Oh they are yummy! But be warned it is hard to just eat 1 or 2.
DeleteI've made these for Valentine's Day and shipped them in a cookie exchange. They travel well too! They are really easy to make and taste delicious! I might have to try some for Christmas this year. I'm with you on the not wanting to eat all of the cookies too... I love to make them but I really don't need to eat all of them. I like sending them with my husband to work. That way, I get my I need to make a cookie fix, and I don't have to eat them all myself.
ReplyDeleteI found your blog through the Made in a Day social hop.
Thanks so much for following! I have made my hubs take the cookies to work too. If they are not here I can't eat them. I so do love making them though, if only I had a little more self control.
DeleteSo cute!

Maxie, yes the chocolate gets firm once they are dry. Not sticky at all. I even packed them in my daughters lunch and they did not melt. And I agree no baking is great!
