Clay Pot Bird Bath

This weekend we made this great bird bath.  I just love how it turned out and it looks great in the garden.  This would make a great Mother’s Day gift but that does not mean my mom is getting it (see previous post about my mom, Mother’s Day, and my blog).

If you have been thinking about getting a bird bath or making one of your own, then you need to check this one out.  It is WAY cheaper than those $80 stone ones you find in the stores and I think it looks so pretty.  You almost don’t even notice it is all made out of pots. And if you still don't know what to get your mom or mother-in-law for Mother's Day, this would be great it is pretty easy to do you can have it done in a day... we did!

Supplies

5 Clay pots
1 medium clay saucer
1 Large clay Saucer
Paint
Strong Glue
Sealer (I used a spray on)

Directions
The first thing you need to do is paint everything the color or colors you want
Once the paint is dry use a strong glue to glue your pieces together.
I only did two pots at a time just to make sure the weight did not make them slip.  Once the glue was dry on the two I glued two more.  And I let the whole thing sit over night before I glued the large saucer on.
Once all the glue is dry spray the whole thing with a sealer.  This will protect it from the weather and protect the birds when drinking water from it.
Now just fill with water and wait for the birds to come.

    1. Jasmean, I used Beacon 527 Multi-use glue. I bought it at Hobby Lobby. It says it is water proof and is good on most surfaces, not to mention that it is also clear. I use it for a LOT of projects :)

Hope your mom loves it as much as we love ours!
