Mummy Dogs

This weekend my daughter had her first sleep over.  She was so excited when her best friend agreed to stay over (they are only 4 and 5 so being away from home is a big deal).  So with Halloween coming we decided to make a special treat for the girls on their first sleep over.  Of course me being a mom with lots of stuff to do I did not want to spend hours in the kitchen so I made the decision to make Mummy Dogs.

My daughter had so much fun making these and we were able to get them already ahead of time and then just pop them in the oven when the girls were ready to eat.  My husband also really enjoyed them, I had made chili for the adults but I caught him eating a couple of the Mummy Dogs.

Ingredients
8 hotdogs
1 (8 oz) Can Pillsbury Crescent Rolls
Mustard for eyes

Directions

Unwrap crescent rolls keeping two of them together so they form a rectangle. You should have four total rectangles.

Cut each rectangle in to strips lengthwise.

Wrap each hotdog with 5 strips of dough. Criss cross dough to make it look more mummy like. And don't forget to leave room for at one end for the eyes.
Bake for 13-15 min, or until the dough is golden on the outside.
Use mustard to draw eyes.
Serve with mustard and ketchup for dipping sauces.

Another idea for these would be to make them using little smokies.  You will get a lot of mummies using the smokies so this would be great for a party.

I hope you all enjoy these as much as we all did.  The girls ended up having these for dinner and when I asked the next day what they wanted for lunch they both said mommy dogs (I knew what they meant).
