Toddler Paper Mosaic Art

A few weeks back when my oldest was spending the week at grandma's I decided to do a fun art project with my 2 yr old.  I wanted to do something totally geared toward her age and ability.  So I thought a paper mosaic would be perfect.

I also wanted to work on some colors with her, and since this has three different colors we were able to do that.  All you really need for this project is a blank paper you draw a picture on or a coloring page.  Then just tare up pieces of construction paper and glue the paper onto the page.

What we did so that we could work on learning colors is I put the glue on a part of the flower, like the stem and leafs.  Then I told her to just put the green paper on those parts.  I had her repeat the color for me a few times and then I let her place the green paper on the glue.

She was so proud of her finished flower that she had to give it to her sister when we picked her up from grandma's!

Supplies
Coloring Page or Drawing
Colored Construction Paper
Glue

Directions
Draw a flower (or other design) on a sheet of paper (could also use a coloring page)
Tear up some colored construction paper in to small pieces
Put glue on one area on drawing then let child pick color to go there
Put glue on another area of drawing and let child glue the paper to that area
Finish up same way with only adding glue to the area on the page you want the child to cover
Your Toddlers will be so proud of their artwork once done!
