I have really been trying to think of some fun crafts that both my girls could enjoy, instead of just ones for my oldest or just ones for my youngest. So for St. Patty's Day I thought they would both like to make a great picture so I designed this template for us.
This was really just a fun project for my oldest, but for my little one we got to work on her colors. She helped sort all the fruit loops in to colors to make her rainbow. My oldest and I both had to help her a little but it was good practice for her.
Since the hardest thing for my little was was sorting the colors we started with that, while my oldest started coloring first. You don't really need to follow my directions below for this one, you can make this picture in any order you want. Really if you want you cold just print it out and use it as a coloring page too. I thought it would be more fun with all the different textures but it does not need them.
Supplies
St.Patty's Day Art Template
Fruit Loops
Black Marker
Gold Glitter Glue
Cotton Balls
Directions
Print out your St. Patty's Day Template
Sort your fruit loops in to colors then glue them on to make your rainbow
Color your pot black
Glue on your cotton balls to make your cloud.
Use your Gold Glitter Glue for the Gold in your Pot
Now you have a great piece of art for St. Patty's Day to hang on the wall!
Oh, how cute! I love the fruit loop color sorting idea! -Marci @ Stone Cottage Adventures
ReplyDeleteThanks Marci! It was hard getting them to not eat all of them :)
DeleteHow cute! We may give this one a try, although I don't know if the fruit loops will actually make it to the paper, since that's a treat my kids don't usually get to eat!
