Valentine Brownie Bites

I love brownies, so deciding to make some Valentine brownie bites is really not much of a surprise.  I like doing the bites because it makes it so much easier not to eat too much (which I always tend to do).  This recipe is pretty simple and my daughter had a lot fun drizzling the frosting on top of the brownies (she does however tend to make a bit of a frosting mess).

You will have some extra brownies when done (the pieces in between all the hearts) and some extra frosting.  I usually save these and put them on top of some ice cream for a special treat ... YUMMY!!

I have to say that lately I am thinking of a ton of recipes to try and post but not so many crafts, I guess this is how I can tell when I am PMSing when all I am thinking about is food.  So get ready for some more YUMMY recipes!

PRINT RECIPE

Ingredients

Brownies
½ vegetable oil
½ cup all-purpose flour
1 cup white sugar
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tsp. vanilla extract
¼ tsp. baking powder
2 eggs
¼ tsp. salt

Frosting
½ cup Powder sugar
1 tbsp. water
3 drops red food color

Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Line a 9/13 pan with parchment paper (or tinfoil).
In a medium bowl, mix together the oil, sugar, and vanilla.  Beat in eggs.
In separate bowl combine flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt.
Gradually stir the cocoa mixture into the egg mixture until well blended.
Spread batter evenly into prepared pan.  Bake for 20min or until toothpick inserted in middle comes out clean.  Let brownies cool completely.
Using a heart shaped cookie cutter cut out brownies into heart shapes, then line them up on a piece of tinfoil.
In a small bowl mix your powder sugar, water, and food color.
Using a spool drizzle frosting over top of your heart shaped brownies.
Let frosting dry then enjoy!
