Thanksgiving Paper Chain

The other day I was trying to explain to my 4yr old about thanksgiving and to tell you the truth she just was not getting it.  So I thought maybe we should just start with listing things that we were thankful for.  I started by telling her some of the things I was thankful for and why like that I was thankful for her and her sister, because they make me so happy.  After doing this she started to list a few things like she was thankful for her teddy bear.

I thought it would be a great idea to make our list of things into a paper chain we could hang in the living room and remind us of all the things we were thankful for, not to mention that I really need some more thanksgiving decorations.  My daughter was much more excited about making the paper chain than she was about telling me what she was thankful for, but hey it was a start.

Supplies
Construction paper
Scissors
Pen
Glue Stick

Directions
Start by cutting out strips from your construction paper (note: you may need to draw lines for the kids to follow, my daughter did much better with lines to follow).
Now sit with your child and come up with a list of things you are thankful for and write them on the strips. (She wanted to try writing so I let her but I wrote most of them down)
Glue one end of a strip to the other end of that strip to make a circle.  Then put a strip through that circle and glue ends of new strip together to form a chain.
Continue until all strips are used.
Now just find a great place to hang it up.  We hung ours by our paddle turkey we made the other night.
