I have been seeing different versions of this on Pintrest for a few weeks and well I just thought it was awesome and so had to give it a try. We painted the pots because my daughter just LOVES to paint (I really think she would paint the whole house if I let her).
We picked out three colors to paint the pots, that way there were two pots of each color. Then we just started painting away. The pots all needed two coats but the yellow since it is a lighter color needed three.
After we were done painting my daughter wanted to play with mixing colors. I think I will have to find a project soon where she can just mix all the paint colors. My hubs even got involved in this project, he hammered the stick in the ground (I think he just did not want me using his tools).
1 large terracotta pot
5 medium terracotta pots
1 planting stick (we tried a pipe but it was not strong enough, a metal rod would work too)
Paint (we use blue, green, and yellow)
Start by painting all your pots, depending on the color you may need two or three coats of paint.
Once paint is dry place your large pot where you want it and then hammer in your Planting stick.
Now fill your pots with dirt and then stack. You will need to have the pots lean from one side to the other. Just play with the pots till you have them in the position you like.
Plant your flowers in the pots and you are done. Now you have a beautiful garden pot stack.
